2025년 4월 14일부터 17일까지 대만 가오슝(Kaohsiung)에서 '국제 태평양 해양 교육자 네트워크(IPMEN)' 정기 컨퍼런스가 개최 되었습니다.

국제 태평양 해양 교육자 네트워크(IPMEN)는 2007년 1월 하와이에서 태평양 전역의 해양 교육자와 과학자 회의에서 시작되었으며, 태평양 생태계의 보전 및 복원, 관리를 위해 전문 지식과 자원을 공유하고 육성하기 위한 태평양 네트워크를 구축하고 있습니다.

우리 협회 제종길 회장님은 이번 행사에서 국내 해양환경, 해양생태, 기후변화 연구에 대한 성과와 향후 계획에 대하여 발표하였으며, IPMEN을 통한 협력 방안을 논의 하였습니다.

The International Pacific Marine Educators Network (IPMEN)' regular conference was held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan from April 14-17, 2025.

The International Pacific Marine Educators Network (IPMEN) was created at a meeting of marine educators and scientists from around the Pacific in Hawai’i in January 2007. This meeting resulted in the establishment of a Pacific-wide network that sets out to nurture and share the knowledge (both traditional and contemporary), expertise and resources required to foster a fuller understanding of the ocean’s value with the aim of creating informed and responsible communities who seek to conserve, manage and restore the integrity of ocean ecosystems in the Pacific. 

At this event, Chairman Jong-Geel Je of our association presented the achievements and future plans for research on marine environment, marine ecology, and climate change in Korea and discussed ways to cooperate through IPMEN.
